Welcome to For the Love of Passport Stamps.
Let me start you off by introducing myself. My name is Michelle and I was born and raised in a smallish town in South Africa.
After finishing high school, I went on to obtain my M.Sc in Biochemistry at Rhodes University. After studying for six years, I decided it was time I went and saw a bit of the world.
This led me teaching English in Busan, South Korea for two years. This experience was honestly life changing, and will be written about periodically. Yes, I do wish I had started blogging earlier… Leaving Korea was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
In 2017, I decided to use to hard earned cash from Korea to travel the world. This led to seven months of travelling in South America and Africa. Some of my highlights from these trips included visiting the Amazon River. Igauzu Falls, hiking in Patagoni (WOW! WOW! WOW!), visiting the Uyuni salt flats, hiking to Machu Picchu, trekking to see the gorillas, taking a game drive in the Serengeti, swimming at the top of Victoria Falls, jumping out of planes, and snorkeling in tropical water. What an incredible year.
Now it’s time to start earning some money as a scientist so that I can start to plan my next trip!
